
Guar gum hydroxypropyl trimethylammonium chloride (also known as cationic guar gum) is a cationic polysaccharide polymer produced by etherification modification of natural guar gum (through reaction with 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl trimethylammonium chloride). Its main molecular chain consists of a mannose-galactose polysaccharide structure, while the introduction of quaternary ammonium groups into the side chains confers cationic properties. Combining the biocompatibility of natural polysaccharides with the surface activity of cationic polymers, it serves as a key functional ingredient in personal care, textiles, and papermaking industries.
