Potassium Peroxymonosulfate typically exists in the form of a compound salt (2KHSO₅·KHSO₄·K₂SO₄), also known as potassium monopersulfate trihydrate. It is a white, crystalline, powdery inorganic acidic strong oxidizing agent. Its active component is KHSO₅. It has a high oxidation potential (1.82 V), good stability, low toxicity, and is environmentally friendly. It is highly soluble in water and is widely used in disinfection, bleaching, and oxidation applications.
