1 Nitropropane (MF: C₃H₇NO₂, MW: 89.09) is an aliphatic nitro compound. At room temperature, it is a colorless, transparent liquid with a faint odor resembling chloroform or fruit. It is primarily produced by the nitration of propane or the reaction of propylene with nitrous acid. It is widely used in solvents, organic synthesis intermediates, fuel additives, and other fields, and is an important polar solvent and chemical raw material.

Fuel additives: 1 Nitropropane is used as gasoline anti-knock agents and aviation fuel additives to improve fuel combustion efficiency and power performance.
Fine chemical additives: 1-Nitropropane is used for metal degreasing and cleaning, surface pretreatment, and as chromatographic analysis reagents.
