Ambroxan (MF: C₁₆H₂₈O, MW: 236.39) is a synthetic ambergris-type fragrance compound, chemically designated as 1,5,5,9-tetramethyl-13-oxatricyclo[8.3.0.0⁴,⁹]tridecane. It exhibits distinctive woody, musky, and marine notes with specific optical activity. It remains chemically stable under standard conditions and demonstrates excellent thermal stability, making it suitable for long-term storage.
