Beta Cyclodextrin (MF: C₄₂H₇₀O₃₅, MW: 1134.99), abbreviated as β-CD, is a cyclic oligosaccharide formed by seven D-glucopyranose units linked via α-1,4-glycosidic bonds. It possesses an ‘hydrophobic interior, hydrophilic exterior’ cavity structure— By incorporating hydrophobic small molecules (guest molecules) into its cavity, it forms stable ‘host-guest inclusion complexes’, thereby enhancing the guest’s solubility, stability, volatility, and other properties.
