1,5-Dihydroxyanthraquinone/Anthrarufin

Cas 117-12-4 (1,5-Dihydroxyanthraquinone ) is a yellow to pale yellow, flaky crystalline organic compound belonging to the anthraquinone class; it is the 1,5-dihydroxy derivative of anthraquinone. It is soluble in benzene and nitrobenzene, slightly soluble in ethanol, acetic acid, and diethyl ether, and turns red in potassium hydroxide solution. It is insoluble in sodium carbonate solution and ammonia water, and turns a fluorescent red in concentrated sulfuric acid. It is an important dye intermediate and fine chemical raw material.
