
2-Amino-2-methyl-1-propanol is a colorless transparent liquid at room temperature with an ammonia odor, and it is easily soluble in water and alcohol solvents. Containing amino and hydroxyl groups in its molecule, it is weakly alkaline, capable of neutralizing with organic acids to form salts and undergoing acylation and condensation reactions. It features stable properties at room temperature and excellent buffering capacity. It tends to react with strong oxidants and is not easy to decompose at high temperatures. Slightly corrosive, it should be stored in a sealed container away from heat sources and oxidants.
