Basic Red 14 (Astrazon Brilliant Red 4G) is a deep red, uniform powder that is readily soluble in water and forms a bright red solution. Molecular formula: C₂₃H₂₆ClN₃; molecular weight: 379.93. This dye is stable at 120°C and within a pH range of 2–6, and exhibits good leveling properties. Its color changes slightly in the presence of copper ions but remains unchanged in the presence of iron ions; its lightfastness reaches Class 6.
It is primarily used for dyeing and printing acrylic and blended fabrics, offering vibrant color, good leveling properties, and a lightfastness rating of 6.
