Product Application Of Chloramine T Cas 127-65-1

  1. Disinfection and Sterilization: Chloramine T is used in healthcare (disinfection of skin, mucous membranes, medical devices, and operating rooms), water treatment (disinfection of drinking water and recirculating water, removal of ammonia nitrogen), and environmental and surface disinfection (tableware, textiles, food processing equipment, and disinfection of aquaculture water). It is mild, non-corrosive, and has a broad spectrum of activity.
  2. Organic Synthesis: Chloramine T serves as a mild oxidizing agent and a reagent for the Sharpless amine hydroxylation reaction, used in selective oxidation and the synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates; it is also employed in protein iodination labeling and the cyclization of nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds.
  3. Textiles and Papermaking: Bleaching of protein fibers such as wool and silk (without damaging the fibers), anti-shrinkage treatment for wool, deinking of waste paper, and improvement of fabric and pulp quality.
  4. Other Applications: Used as a titrant and indicator in analytical chemistry; for disinfecting fish eggs in aquaculture; and in metal surface treatment to remove oxide layers and improve coating adhesion.
