
Citronella oil (CAS 8000-29-1) is a natural essential oil obtained through steam distillation from plants of the Citronella genus(Cymbopogon winterianus and C. nardus). It is a pale yellow to brownish-yellow, clear liquid with a strong, characteristic lemon- and grass-like aroma. Its main components include monoterpenes such as citronellal, citronellol, and geraniol.
