Cocamide DEA is a nonionic surfactant, appearing as a pale yellow to amber viscous liquid with a faint coconut odor. the formula is RCON(CH₂CH₂OH)₂ (where R represents the alkyl chain of a coconut fatty acid, primarily C₁₁–C₁₃). It is water‑dispersible, alkaline (pH 9–11 for 1% solution), and stable under normal conditions. It exhibits good foaming, thickening, emulsifying and anti‑static properties, compatible with most surfactants.
