Decane

Decane is a colorless, transparent and flammable liquid. It belongs to straight-chain saturated alkanes, practically insoluble in water and miscible with most organic solvents. It features stable chemical properties and hardly reacts at room temperature, showing no reaction with acids, alkalis or weak oxidants. It can undergo cracking and combustion reactions at high temperatures and be slowly oxidized by strong oxidants.
With moderate volatility, low viscosity and good lubricity, it is liable to burn and explode when exposed to open flames and high heat. It shall be stored in a sealed, cool place away from ignition sources.
