Dibutyl adipate is a diester compound formed by the esterification of adipic acid and n-butanol. It has the molecular formula C₁₄H₂₆O₄ and a molecular weight of 258.35. At room temperature, it is a colorless, transparent, oily liquid with a faint, characteristic odor. It is low-toxicity and environmentally friendly, exhibits excellent cold resistance and low viscosity, and has good compatibility with various resins and synthetic rubbers. It is widely used in the fields of plasticizers, solvents, cosmetics, and organic synthesis, and is an important environmentally friendly fine chemical raw material.
