The core function of DOA as a plasticizer is to improve the flexibility, plasticity and processing performance of polymer materials, and its application fields mainly include the following categories:

1. Dioctyl adipate is one of the commonly used plasticizers in PVC processing, especially suitable for products with high requirements for low temperature performance, such as:
   Cold-resistant film (used in the packaging of frozen food), synthetic leather, flooring leather (to enhance the flexibility in low temperature environment), cable materials (to ensure insulation and flexibility in low temperature), and so on. Cold-resistant film (used in frozen food packaging), artificial leather, floor leather (to enhance the softness in low temperature environment), cable materials (to ensure the insulation and flexibility in low temperature)
2. DOA is added into rubber products as softener, such as used in making cold-resistant seals, hoses, and so on.
3. Dioctyl hexanedioate can regulate the film-forming property and flexibility of the coating and prevent the coating from cracking in low temperature; it can enhance the adhesion and low temperature stability in adhesive.
4. DOA Plasticizer is used for plasticizing cellulose nitrate, cellulose acetate and other plastics to improve their processing properties and performance.
5. Dioctyl adipate is used as an auxiliary ingredient in some lubricants and mold releasing agent formulations to enhance the low temperature adaptability of products.

Compared with phthalate plasticizers, the outstanding advantages of DOA are: better low-temperature performance, lower toxicity, and relatively good environmental protection.
