  1. Epoxy fatty acid methyl ester (MF: C19H36O3, MW: 312.49) is a new type of environmentally friendly plasticiser primarily made from fatty acid methyl esters. At room temperature, it is a light yellow liquid with a density slightly lower than water and exhibits a certain degree of viscosity.

  2. Due to the presence of epoxy groups, epoxy fatty acid methyl ester exhibits strong reactivity. Under acidic or alkaline conditions, it can undergo ring-opening reactions and react with substances such as alcohols, acids, and amines. Additionally, it possesses the general properties of fatty acid esters and may undergo hydrolysis reactions under high-temperature or strong acid/alkali conditions.

  1.  Can replace toxic or restricted plasticisers such as phthalate esters as stabilisers in soft PVC products, such as films, cable compounds, artificial leather, pipes, and seals.
  2. Used in rubber compounding processes, rubber release agents, and vulcanisation modification.
  3. Serves as an active plasticiser or modifier in coatings, particularly suitable for water-based and environmentally friendly coatings, reducing VOC emissions.
  4.  When added to adhesives, it improves their flowability, flexibility, and low-temperature resistance, enhances bonding strength to various substrates (such as plastics, metals, and wood), and meets environmental requirements.
  5. It can be used as a base oil or additive in the preparation of industrial lubricants, suitable for applications such as mechanical transmission and metal processing.
  6.  When added to diesel fuel, it improves its lubricating properties, with particularly significant effects on the lubricity of low-sulfur diesel.
  7. It can be used to prepare non-ionic or anionic surfactants with special properties for use in detergents, emulsifiers, and other products.
  8. As a bio-based additive, it can be blended with biodegradable plastics such as polylactic acid (PLA) and polybutylene succinate (PBS) to improve their processing and mechanical properties, thereby promoting the application of biodegradable materials.
