
Glycol distearate(MF:C38H74O4 ,MW: 594.99) is a saturated diester of ethylene glycol and stearic acid produced through an esterification reaction; it belongs to the class of nonionic ester-based organic compounds.
At room temperature, it is a white, waxy, flaky solid. It disperses in hot water but precipitates into fine, layered crystals upon cooling. It possesses a soft pearlescent luster, is stable, mild, and non-irritating, making it the most classic and widely used pearlescent ingredient in the personal care industry.
