
Hydroxyphenanthrene retinoate (HPR), a third-generation retinoic acid derivative (retinoid), is formed by the esterification of retinoic acid with hydroxyphenanthrene and is hailed as a “gentle yet highly effective anti-aging breakthrough.” MF: C₂₆H₃₈O₃, MW: 398.58. Its core advantage lies in the fact that it does not require metabolic conversion by the skin; it can bind directly to cellular retinoic acid receptors (RARs).
