It exists as a stable solid at ambient temperatures, appearing as a yellow or red powder depending on the preparation process. As a fluxing agent, it lowers the melting temperature of glass, used in the production of speciality glass such as optical glass, cathode-ray tube glass, and heat-resistant glass.
As a fluxing agent and colouring agent, it reduces the melting temperature of ceramic glazes, commonly employed in tableware ceramics and industrial enamelled components.

– As an anti-rust pigment in rust-proof paint formulation, particularly suited for steel structure corrosion protection.
– Also employed in yellow pigment production for coatings, inks and related products.
Manufacture of piezoelectric ceramics exhibiting piezoelectric effects, widely utilised in electronic components including sensors, capacitors and ultrasonic generators.
