Microcrystalline cellulose, with a molecular formula (C₆H₁₀O₅)ₙ and a molecular weight 324.28, that varies with degree of polymerization, is a white, odorless, and tasteless porous crystalline powder. It is insoluble in water, organic solvents, and fats, and possesses good flowability, compressibility, and disintegration properties.
