As a polymer solvent, it is used in the production of polyimide films, polyphenylene sulfide resins, polyurethane elastomers, etc. It also serves as a solvent for coatings and adhesives, enhancing product adhesion and leveling properties.
Used in lithium battery electrode preparation to dissolve binders (e.g., PVDF) in electrode materials; and also for cleaning semiconductor wafers and removing photoresists.
As an extractant for separating aromatics (e.g., benzene, toluene) from non-aromatics to improve aromatic purity; also used for removing sulfides from petroleum.
