Molecular formula: C₁₆H₃₀N₂O₃; molecular weight: 298.43. It is a highly effective, mild antifungal agent and anti-dandruff agent widely used in the personal care and cosmetics industries, playing a particularly important role in anti-dandruff shampoo formulations.
PO also possesses metal-chelating properties, forming stable complexes with metal ions such as iron and copper to interfere with fungal metabolic processes; it exhibits good compatibility with most surfactants, emulsifiers, and preservatives.
