
Polycaprolactone (PCL) is a semi-crystalline linear aliphatic polyester formed by the ring-opening polymerisation of the ε-caprolactone monomer under the catalysis of a metal anion complex catalyst. MF: (C₆H₁₀O₂)ₙ MW: 114.1424. It possesses a unique low melting point, high flexibility and controllable degradability, and is one of the FDA-approved biomaterials. By controlling the polymerisation conditions, products with different molecular weights (ranging from a few thousand to several hundred thousand) can be obtained to meet the requirements of various applications.
