Polypropylene glycol is a linear polyether polyol produced by the ring-opening polymerization of propylene oxide, with the molecular formula H(OCH(CH₃)CH₂) nOH. It is a colorless to pale yellow, transparent, viscous liquid with a molecular weight that can be adjusted between 200 and 8000. It combines lipophilicity, low volatility, lubricity, and good compatibility, making it a core raw material for polyurethane synthesis. It is widely used in the personal care, coatings, pharmaceutical, and lubricant industries.
