Sodium Lauroyl Isethionate (SLI) is an anionic surfactant. Its chemical name is sodium 2-(dodecyl)ethanesulfonate, with the molecular formula C14H29NaO5S and a molecular weight of 330.42. It appears as a white powder / flake-like solid, or a 25%–30% pale yellow transparent liquid. It is mild and low-irritating, with excellent cleaning, foaming, emulsifying, and hard water resistance properties. It is widely used in personal care, cosmetics, and cleaning products, and is one of the preferred alternatives to traditional sulfate surfactants.
