
Stearalkonium hectorite (MF: C₂₇H₅₂LiMgNNaO₁₂Si₄⁻ MW: 749. 28) is an organic clay mineral derived from hydromica that has been cationically modified with silarcloramide (stearylbenzyldimethylammonium chloride). It belongs to the class of organically modified layered silicates and appears as a white to pale yellow powder. It exhibits excellent rheological control, thickening, suspending, thixotropic, and emulsifying properties, and is widely used in cosmetics, personal care, coatings and inks, and pharmaceutical applications.
