Tetraethyl orthosilicate/TEOS (CAS 78-10-4), with the molecular formula C8H20O4Si, is a colorless, transparent liquid. It is highly volatile at room temperature, readily hydrolyzes upon contact with water, and is miscible with organic solvents such as ethanol.
