Tetramethylethylenediamine (TMEDA/TEMED) is a colorless, transparent liquid with a faint ammonia odor. It belongs to the class of aliphatic tertiary diamines, exhibits strong basicity and bidentate coordination ability, and is miscible with water, alcohols, and most organic solvents. It serves as a core ligand, catalyst, and cross-linking agent in the fields of organic synthesis, polymer materials, and biochemistry, and is widely used in metal-organic reactions, polyurethane foaming, and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.

Fine Chemicals: Tetramethylethylenediamine is used in the synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates, quaternary ammonium salts, and ionic liquids; also used to prepare water treatment corrosion inhibitors and scale inhibitors.
