Tosyl Isocyanate (PTSI), MF: C₈H₇NO₃S, MW: 197.21, is an important organic synthetic reagent containing two reactive groups in its molecular structure: a p-toluenesulfonyl group and an isocyanate group. The reactivity of the isocyanate carbon is significantly enhanced by the adjacent tosyl group, making it an efficient reagent for the synthesis of carbamates, urea derivatives, and other compounds. PTSI exhibits good thermal stability and can be vacuum distilled without decomposition; it is widely used in the pharmaceutical, pesticide, and materials science industries.
