Chemical Properties Of Tung Oil Cas 8001-20-5

  • Tung oil is a transparent, oily liquid ranging in color from pale yellow to brownish-yellow. It has a distinctive odor and is a natural drying vegetable oil obtained by pressing and refining the seeds of the tung tree. Its core component is the triglyceride of tung oil acid, making it one of the most highly drying vegetable oils in nature. At room temperature, it rapidly oxidizes and polymerizes upon contact with air, forming a hard, water-resistant, and acid- and alkali-resistant solid paint film; when heated, it readily undergoes polymerization reactions, thickening or even gelating.
