Capric Acid (also known as decanoic acid or lanolin acid) is a 10-carbon saturated medium-chain fatty acid with the molecular formula (C10H20O2) and a molecular weight of 172.26. It is a white crystalline solid at room temperature with a faint fatty acid odor. It occurs naturally in coconut oil, palm kernel oil, and milk fat, and serves as an important intermediate and raw material in the food, personal care, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries.
