Ethylene Glycol Diacetate (EGDA) is a low-toxicity, environmentally friendly ester compound with the molecular formula C₆H₁₀O₄ and molecular weight 146.14. It is a diester formed by the esterification reaction of ethylene glycol with two molecules of acetic acid. Its molecular structure contains two acetoxy groups (-OOCCH₃), combining the solubility and stability of ester compounds. Due to the absence of toxic structures like benzene rings or halogenated groups, it is widely used as an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional highly toxic solvents (e.g., toluene, xylene, phthalate esters).
